The deities Izanagi and Izanami that created the islands of Japan. They were given a jeweled spear, with which they stirred the chaos of the world below. A droplet formed at the tip of the spear and became the first island. An illustration for STORIED magazine’s second issue on islands.

I wrote and illustrated a fun (Japanese) dictionary about beer! The book came out in June 2016, from Seibundo-Shinkosha. I talk about the history, the science and evolution, the styles, craft brewers in Japan, and funny facts about beer. The book is in Japanese, but here are some illustrations from the book. (*Chinese version to be published in Taiwan, Spring 2017)
