Hello!
I’m an illustrator, herbalist, copywriter, and mom—based in Brooklyn, NY, hailing from Kyoto, Japan. I’ve always been inspired by plants, symbols, stories, and dreams, and my work often organically emerges from everyday life.
After studying Illustration and Global Studies at The New School, I worked various design and translation jobs while continuing my art practice on the side. In 2020, I began studying herbalism at Arbor Vitae School of Traditional Herbalism, a three year program nestled in the Hudson Valley in Upstate New York—a journey that has completely changed my life in so many unexpected ways.
The study of herbalism invites us to explore the intricate ecosystems that surround us, revealing a profound interconnectedness often overlooked in conventional spaces. It opens the door to deep wisdom held by Indigenous communities and ancient traditions—wisdom that has been, and continues to be, systematically erased. Yet through it all, the plant world remains ever-present , offering medicine and stories to those who choose to reach out.
As I continue to study, my art-making has evolved into a practice of integrating what I discover into my psyche, while wandering around in my internal world—and I hope it might alllow others to do the same.
